The Right Foundation for You.

The right foundation is the one that matches your skin tone and does not look cakey. Can one find  foundation that matches their skin tone? The answer to this question is Yes and No.

Let me explain why. Last year i bought this liquid foundation that was the same shade as my skin tone, it didn't even look cakey in photos. But then, last week i used the same foundation and it looked like i was wearing foundation 2 or 3 shades lighter than my skin tone.So what went wrong? Was the foundation expired?
No! It was my skin tone that had changed in all this time. There are many reasons for change in skin tone. Less intake of water, lack of sleep, disturbed diet, exposure to sunlight (on a daily basis) etc. In my case, my skin became pale due to less intake of water so when i use the same shade, it just didn't match my skin tone which made me look like a wanna be who wears a lot of make up. LOL
So there are two solutions to this:

1- Buy two Foundations: When you purchase your foundation, get one that matches your skin tone or one shade lighter than your skin tone (That wont look cakey). The other foundation that you should be looking for is one shade darker than your skin tone. So that you can use it in your pale days.
2- Get a Bronzer: If you dont want to buy two foundations then buy a liquid bronzer. In your pale days, mix some bronzer with your foundation. The amount of bronzer to be mixed depends on your skin tone. Just take a drop or two and mix with your foundation and see if the color matches your skin tone.If you're still not getting the desired color then add another drop of bronzer.Doesn't matter if it looks dark, a few puffs of compact powder would make it look alright.
